How it works

Four steps at the kitchen table. Everything you need is already in the box — nothing to buy, nothing to borrow.

  1. Knead the clay

Warm it in your hands until it is soft and even, then press it flat and smooth into the disc.

  2. Take the print

Hold the paw and press once — firm, straight down — then lift cleanly. There is enough clay for a second print if the first one wriggles.

  3. Let it air-dry

24–48 hours on a shelf at room temperature. No oven, no baking, nothing to watch over.

  4. Paint it and frame it

Eight colours and a brush are in the box: the paw, the date, their name. Then it goes into the frame.

Watch it done, start to finish

Our own kit, filmed and narrated end to end — about 45 seconds. Nothing plays until you press it.

The walk-through is spoken, so turn the sound up when you are ready. Nothing on this page plays by itself.

Clay or inkless?

Two ways to keep the same paw. Both arrive with a real frame, both cost £20.00, and neither needs anything you do not already have.

Before you order

Everything worth knowing before you press Buy — including the awkward parts.

Will this work on a pet who will not sit still?

That is what the spare clay is for: there is enough in the box for two full prints, so a first attempt that goes sideways costs you nothing but a few minutes. It helps to try when they are sleepy — after a walk or a meal — to have a second pair of hands, and to press once, firmly and straight down, rather than wiggling the paw about.

What if the first try goes wrong?

While the clay is still soft you can knead it back into a ball and start over, as many times as you need — nothing is spoiled until it dries. And the kit holds enough clay for two full prints, so you still have a real second go. If anything arrives missing or broken, email heirpaws.shop@gmail.com and we will put it right.

How long does it take?

The pressing itself is a few minutes. Then the clay air-dries for 24–48 hours at room temperature — no oven, no baking — before you paint it and put it in the frame. So: minutes of work, then a day or two of waiting.

Is it safe for my pet?

Nothing is heated and nothing sets hard against the paw — the clay dries in the open, off the animal. Press with the paw relaxed, never force a joint, and wipe the pad with a warm damp cloth afterwards. If your pet has a sore or injured paw, wait until it has healed.
