Terms of sale
The agreement between you and Heirpaws when you buy a keepsake kit from this website. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legalese.
Drafted 23 August 2026 · version 0.1 (draft) · not yet in force — this version takes effect on 24 August 2026.
1. Who you are buying from
Heirpaws sells paw print keepsake kits for dogs and cats. When these terms say “we”, “us” or “Heirpaws”, they mean the trader below. When they say “you”, they mean the person placing the order.
- Trading name
- Heirpaws
- Legal status
- a sole trader
- Company number
- not a limited company; trading as a sole trader
- Trading address
- 17 Alameda Place, London, E3 2ZN, United Kingdom
- VAT number
- not VAT registered
- Based in
- London, United Kingdom
UK law requires an online shop to show its real identity and a geographic address before someone buys — this is not optional, and Stripe will ask for the same details during account review. If you trade as a sole trader you still have to give a real address that letters can be sent to; if you would rather not publish your home address, the usual answer is a registered-office or mail-forwarding service.
2. About these terms
These terms apply to everything you buy from this website. Please read them before you order — by placing an order you are agreeing to them.
Nothing here takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer. If any part of these terms conflicts with your legal rights, your legal rights win. In particular, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 apply to your purchase, and customers in the EU keep the protections of their own country's consumer law.
We sell to consumers — people buying for themselves, not for a business. If you are buying for a business, some of the protections described here (in particular the 14-day right to cancel) do not apply to you.
You must be at least 18 to place an order.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this page on the day you ordered, so it is worth saving or printing a copy at the time.
3. The kits and how they are described
Every kit is described on its product page, and the description there is the description that forms part of our contract with you.
Photographs, videos and colour swatches are meant to give a fair impression of the kit, but screens vary and clay is a natural material — small differences in shade, texture and finish are normal and are not a fault.
A keepsake kit is a craft product. How the finished print turns out depends on how it is made, and we cannot promise a particular result. The kits are supplied with instructions and we ask you to follow them.
We can change a kit's contents to reflect a change in the law, a safety requirement, or a minor improvement. If a change would materially affect what you ordered, we will tell you before we dispatch and you can cancel for a full refund.
If an item is out of stock or we cannot supply it, we will tell you and refund you in full. We are not obliged to accept every order.
4. Prices and VAT
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). The price you pay is the price shown on the checkout page before you confirm the order.
At the time this draft was written, each of the four kits was priced at £34.20, with free worldwide delivery, so £34.20 is the full amount you pay.
Prices include VAT where VAT applies — we are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
We try hard to price things correctly, but if a price is obviously wrong — clearly a mistake, and you could reasonably have realised it was a mistake — we do not have to supply the kit at that price. We will contact you and you can confirm the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
Check £34.20 against what your product pages and Stripe actually charge before this page
goes live, and update this paragraph whenever you change your prices. The site's price data
lives in one file (build/products.json) — that is the number to match.
5. How an order is made and accepted
Placing an order is an offer to buy, not a completed sale. The steps are:
- You choose a kit and go to checkout.
- You pay through Stripe, our payment provider.
- We send you an order confirmation by email. Our contract with you begins when we send that confirmation.
- If we cannot accept the order — the kit is unavailable, we cannot deliver to your address, or a price was wrong — we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
Before you confirm payment you can go back and correct any mistake in your order or your address. Please check your delivery address carefully: once your kit has been dispatched we usually cannot change it.
Please keep your confirmation email — it has your order number on it, and quoting that number makes everything faster if you need to contact us.
6. Payment
Payment is taken at the time of the order, through Stripe. Depending on your device and country, Stripe may offer cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other methods.
Your card details go directly to Stripe. Heirpaws never sees or stores your full card number. What we receive is confirmation that the payment succeeded, plus your name, email address and delivery address so we can send your order.
If your payment is declined or reversed, we do not have to supply the kit.
See our Privacy & cookies page for what happens to your information.
7. Delivery
The short version
- Delivery is free on every order, worldwide.
- Your kit ships from our supplier in China, not from a UK warehouse.
- Estimated delivery time: 4–7 days
Full details — where kits are dispatched from, how long delivery takes, what happens if it is late, and who pays any customs charges — are on the Delivery page, and those details form part of these terms.
By law we must deliver within 30 days of the contract starting unless you and we agree otherwise. The delivery times quoted on the Delivery page are our estimate; if we miss the 30 days, the Delivery page explains what you can do about it.
Your kit becomes your responsibility once it is delivered to the address you gave us — until then, the risk of loss or damage in transit is ours.
8. Your right to change your mind
Because you are buying online without seeing the kit in person, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason at all — you do not need to give one.
The Returns & cancellations page explains exactly how to do it, how long refunds take, and who pays the return postage. Those details form part of these terms.
9. If something is wrong with your kit
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, what we sell you must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not:
- Within 30 days of delivery you can reject it and get a full refund.
- Up to six months after delivery you can ask for a repair or replacement; if that fails, you can claim a refund, which may be reduced to reflect the use you have had.
- These rights are in addition to — not instead of — the 14-day right to change your mind.
Email heirpaws.shop@gmail.com with your order number and a photo of the problem, and we will sort it out. You never pay return postage on a faulty item.
10. Using the kit safely
Please follow the instructions supplied with the kit. Keep clay, small parts and packaging away from children and animals when they are not supervised, and never leave a pet alone with the kit's contents. The kits are craft materials, not toys and not food.
If your pet is unwell, elderly, in pain, or reacts badly to having a paw handled, stop — no keepsake is worth distressing them. If you are worried about your pet's health, speak to a vet. We are not able to give veterinary advice.
Check this wording against the safety notices printed on the kits themselves and on any supplier documentation, and change it so the two agree. If the packaging carries an age restriction, a CE/UKCA mark or specific warnings, they should be repeated here. [PLACEHOLDER: any age restriction or safety marking that applies to the kits]
11. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of that failure. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if at the time of the contract both we and you knew it might happen.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and liability under your consumer rights in relation to defective products or to goods that are not as described, of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose.
We are not liable for business losses. We supply these kits for private, domestic use, and if you use one for a commercial purpose we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by something outside our reasonable control — for example extreme weather, a carrier's failure, industrial action, customs delays or a shortage at our supplier. If such a delay happens we will contact you as soon as we can, and if it is substantial you may cancel and receive a full refund for anything not yet delivered.
12. Your personal information
We use your information only to take payment, send your order, answer your messages, and meet our tax and record-keeping duties. What we collect, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have are all set out on the Privacy & cookies page.
13. Complaints
Something wrong? Email heirpaws.shop@gmail.com with your order number and what happened. We aim to reply within 2 working days and to resolve complaints within 14 days.
If we cannot resolve it between us, you can take the matter further. In the UK, free advice is available from Citizens Advice. Consumers in the EU can contact the consumer protection body or European Consumer Centre in their own country.
None of this affects your right to take a claim to court.
14. Other terms
Transferring the contract. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and we will tell you in writing if we do. It will not affect your rights.
Nobody else has rights under this contract. The contract is between you and us. No other person has a right to enforce any of its terms.
If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the rest carries on in force.
Delay is not a waiver. If we do not insist immediately that you do something you are required to do, or if we delay in taking steps against you, that does not mean we have given up those rights.
Links to other websites. This site may link to places we do not control, such as our Etsy shop or our payment provider. We are not responsible for their content or their terms.
Our content. The text, photographs, videos, logos and designs on this site belong to Heirpaws or are used with permission. Please do not copy them for commercial use without asking.
15. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there.
Questions about these terms: heirpaws.shop@gmail.com. This is a draft prepared for review; it is not legal advice, and it has not been checked by a qualified adviser.
